The Show update.

Well, this months show has been going very well. A lot of polarization of the community, which is actually fantastic to see! It means these are making people think, even if it is only to a level about what these mean as art.

But, and as we all know, Penticton slows down a lot in the winter. So everyone, please, come on in. We are still hoping for a show sell-out, and this is definitely worth it.

But, for those that need to see what we are talking about…

And of course, the Artist himself:

Shamim, hiding behind Neko, the studio cat. What can I say, all are artists will get a headshot, wether they want one or not.

And for the record…

In Defense of Art

About the lack of updates.

Sorry for the lack up updates for the past month. Here at Two Lakes life has gotten very hectic.

We have the studio almost fully set up. It is running fully operational now, and some very ingenious designs have gone in to make it very efficient. I will do specific posts later to elaborate on that one.

As for working, we have done a good number of portrait sessions in the new studio, and the results have been amazing. One problem still trying to be overcome, we have WAY too much power in out lights. Well, thats not so much of a problem, but it does have its issues. Esp. with small objects.

The Art show for local painter, Larry Hunter, was a great success. He is an amazing guy, and very friendly and down to earth. And his opening was just amazing, with a great turnout of around 250 people.

Our next artist is also a painter, named Shamim Nouri. His show will be opening this Sunday, on the 1st, at 6pm. It should be an exceptional show.

But thats all for now, see you all later.

Newspaper Article

Well, for anyone interested, we had an article run about our first show in the Penticton Western News today.

I found it to be a rather nice article, and if anyone else would like to read about it, please click here.

Many thanks to Steve Kidd for coming to the studio and talking with us. He was a rather fun guy, with a great knowledge of photographic history for a photojournalist! (Just kidding, Steve.)
